Currently, the Air Force has two separate types of long-range bombers that can both carry nuclear weapons and conduct conventional missions. As the United States approaches the modernization of all its nuclear forces, the timing is appropriate to consider phasing out one or the other, with the ability to save $6 to $8 billion within the decade.
